Tèaura is founded by Jamie McKee and Bauhinia Lee, a couple who love life and tea – and appreciate how the two are essentially one and the same. 

Like most British folks, Jamie drank tea from an early age, mostly from low quality teabags. When he explored the health benefits of green tea and tasted his first cup of quality brewed tea, he was captivated by its layers of flavours and natural energy-boosting properties. He was also amazed by how one plant, the Camellia Sinensis (or tea plant) could produce an incredible variety of flavour profiles through varying processing methods. 

Growing up in Hong Kong, tea has always been a part of Bauhinia’s daily life. In Asian culture, tea represents warmth and closeness as families share food and freshly brewed tea at every meal. And because quality tea is meant to be brewed and appreciated slowly, the act of drinking tea allows all of us to slow down, savour life, reflect, and in doing so, gain inner wisdom. 

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, where smartphone screens and 8-second attention spans are commonplace, this practice of slowing down, decluttering the mind and emptying our worries is more important than ever to our physical and mental health. 

It is this philosophy that forms the cornerstone of Tèaura – where every sip of a perfectly brewed cup of tea, provides a moment of inner peace, tranquillity and reflection. We have a true passion for quality brews, and we want to share the joy, wisdom, and peacefulness that a fantastic cup of tea can bring.
